Hot and Sour Shrimp

Ingredients

1 pound. shrimps, cleaned and de-veined
2 onions
Blend together to a smooth paste
1 small piece ginger
10 flakes garlic
3-4 black peppercorns
1 tsp cumin seeds
6 red chillies
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup thick tamarind
juice or 2 tablespoon vinegar
Salt to taste
Cooking oil




Directions

  1. Slice with a sharp knife and fry the onions in a pan until done. Add the ground masala and fry till the oil begins to separate.
  2. Now add the shrimps and salt and some water and simmer for a while. Bring to a boil.
  3. Add more vinegar if required and boil till done.
