Fried Ochroes

 

Ingredients

1/2 cup cornmeal
1 egg 
1/4 cup cooking oil 
1/2 pound ochro
1/2 teaspoon salt




Directions

  1. Mix corn meal and about 1/2 teaspoon salt on a plate and beat the egg in a  separate bowl.
  2. Dip the ochro in the egg then coat with corn meal.
  3. Heat the oil in a skillet  and cook the ochro until it is brown an all sides. Use medium heat.
  4. Set the ochro on paper towels to drain the excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
