Ham Scalloped Yams PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb Ham, cut in cubes
  • 4 Yams, medium sized
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 3/4 Pt whipping cream
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Onion, minced
  • 1 Cup of bread crumbs
  • 1 Cup of grated cheese

Directions

  1. Peel the yams and cut in thin round slice (reserve enough for the top layer).
  2. Melt the margarine in the microwave.
  3. Place half the yams in a buttered baking dish, cover with half the margarine.
  4. Sprinkle with half of the bread crumbs and onions, ham, salt, and pepper.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with the other half of the ingredients.
  6. Top the dish with the reserved yam, brush with melted butter.
  7. Pour whipping cream, sprinkle with the grated cheese.
  8. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
  9. Uncover and bake for another 15 minutes or until tender and brown.
