Guava Turnovers PDF Print E-mail

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2-3 cups milk
  • 5 oz guava paste

 

Directions

  1. Sift dry ingredients in a bowl; add melted butter to the milk and combine with the first mixture.
  2. Mix well until it forms a soft dough. Roll out on a slightly floured board about 14 inch thick.
  3. Cut circular pieces about 4 inches in diameter and place a piece of guava paste in the center of each circle, doubling the other half of the dough over this.
  4. Dampen the inside edges with a little water and press together with a fork.
  5. Fry in hot oil until golden brown.
