The Turks and Caicos flag was adopted on November 7, 1968.

It is similar to the other British colony flags with the Union Flag in the upper left corner.

The yellow shield is taken from the territory's coat of arms and contains a conch shell, lobster, and cactus. A red design with the shield is used as the civil ensign.
