Caribbean Calendar

I finally added a calendar of Caribbean events. You can browse for happenings and things to do by different categories (carnivals & festivals, kompa , hip hop/ r&b, reggae, soca & calypso).

Okay... I'll admit that the calendar is a little empty! This is a great opportunity for promoters and organizers to submit an event. Best of all, it's free.

I'm looking to slowly build the calendar with user contributed information. I can't be everywhere but hundreds of Caribbean events happen weekly. Your contributions are definitely welcome.

Caribbean Flag Items

"Grab something and waive"! Over the years, I've  worked with Amazon.com to promote their products on several of my websites.

One day, I happened to search their catalog with search terms such as 'Aruba' and 'Haiti'. I was amazed by the results and amount of Caribbean merchandise they carried.

When I opened the store on IslandFlave, I decided to leverage Amazon.com's brand to promote discount items and Caribbean deals. The Caribbean flags section will now feature these great products.

Trust me... you won't find a lot of these items in your local mall!

New Recipes & Upcoming Carnivals

Currently there are recipes from a small list of countries (Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti and Trinidad). That's about to change! We've been busy updating cuisine from:

• Antigua
• Barbados
• Guyana
• Dominican Republic

Next on the agenda is the carnival section. Besides just posting dates and locations of different carnivals worldwide (Caribbean, Canada, UK, and US) I wanted to make it easy for you to book an airline flight, reserve a car or hotel room, get local weather, and lots more.
